The positions are open-topic within the framework of the Digital Health Campus, which is one of the strategic aims of our Digital Health Innovation Platform d.hip (Partners: FAU, Medical Valley, Siemens Healthineers, University Hospital Erlangen). Research goals will be defined with experienced partnering professors after an initial boarding phase. Possible fields of research could be, but are not limited to:

Work Environment
You will be integrated in the thriving digital health environment at FAU, which is one of the largest universities in Germany. FAU has been ranked the most innovative university in Germany for the third year in a row, it is part of the cluster Medical Valley as well as the German Digital Health Hub in the metropolitan region of Nürnberg. FAU recently founded a new department on Artificial Intelligence in Biomedical Engineering (AIBE). Detailed information is available upon request.
Notwendige Qualifikation
Candidates for this position should have a master or comparable degree in Computer Science or a related discipline (Medical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, ). Knowledge of one or several of the areas specified above is desired, and you should ideally blend this with an interest in real-world applications. Candidates should be proficient in English both in writing and in verbal discourse. All applicants need to show enthusiasm for research and team work.

The employment start date is April 1, 2021 (flexible within limits). Funding is available for 36 months, an extension is possible. Successful candidates will receive a scholarship that is designed to allow for full-time PhD research. Prospective applicants should apply with a cover letter (no longer than 1 page) and academic CV.
