Research assistant (f/m/d) with the aim of obtaining a doctoral degree

Das Aufgabengebiet umfasst u. a.

Working on sate of the art research and development projects in the field of high-frequency power amplifiers and their linearization for mobile communications (5G, 6G). Develop novel concepts, especially hybrid and voltage-mode Doherty power amplifiers, of 5G/6G RF transmit modules to enhance bandwidth, efficiency, linearity and digitization level. Demonstrate the concept feasibility by hardware builds and measurements. This research activity is in close cooperation with industrial partners.

Notwendige Qualifikation

• Successfully completed university studies (master's degree or comparable) in electrical engineering, technical physics, technical computer science, mechatronics or similar technical fields

• Knowledge in the fields of high-frequency engineering, circuit technology and/or systems engineering

• Knowledge in the field of design and simulation of high frequency technical systems and circuits (e.g. with ADS or MatLab) is advantageous

• High degree of independence, commitment and initiative

• Very good analytical and conceptual skills and a structured way of working

Bemerkungen

The Institute for Electronics Engineering (LTE) of the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), located in Erlangen, is engaged in research and teaching of circuit and system technology for the realization of electronic systems for wireless and wireline communication, sensor technology and for various applications in the fields of mobile radio, radar, automotive technology, medical technology, sensors, logistics (RFID) and multimedia production technology (PMSE).
You will work in a young and international team in cooperation with the company Infineon Technologies.
The employment is based on the salary group E 13 TV-L (full-time position).
The position should be staffed as soon as possible and are initially limited to 3 years. A further employment is possible.
