Research assistant (m/f/d) with the perspective of a doctorate - "Modeling of heat transfer in the hot stamping process"

The area of responsibility includes

  • Development of a physically based modeling approach for heat transfer between the surfaces of the hot-stamping tool and the formed blank considering their dynamic microscopic roughness
  • Thermal design of a setup for hot-stamping experiments
  • Implementation of evaluation methods for determining heat transfer coefficients from these experiments
  • Close collaboration with the other members of the institute and the project partners from the Institute of Manufacturing Technology (LFT) of FAU and the Chair of Forming Processes from TU Dresden
  • Contribution to exercises, seminars and practical courses as well as supervision of students in the context of theses

Necessary qualification

  • Above-average degree in the field of engineering
  • Enthusiasm for independent scientific work
  • Strong interests in heat transfer and modeling
  • High level of commitment, ability to work in a team and reliability
  • Good to very good knowledge of English

Desirable qualification

  • Basic knowledge in the programming language MATLAB
  • Experience in the field of heat transfer
