Student Assistant for literature overview on gradient elasticity

Das Aufgabengebiet umfasst u. a.

We are looking for student assistants to support us in carrying out a comprehensive literature review on gradient elasticity. In classical elasticity problems, only the displacement field is continuous and thus, only its first gradient can be calculated. As a result, it fails to account for higher-gradients and cannot capture size effects.

In this project, we aim to identify the methodologies available to account for higher gradient elasticity. An exhaustive literature review has to be carried out on each method in which one should start with identifying the seminal works and then proceed with the follow-up contributions. Afterwards, the main idea together with the highlights of each paper need to be paraphrased in one paragraph.

Notwendige Qualifikation

The applicants should possess great literature skill and be able to document their review in a neat and readable fashion.

Fluency in English is highly recommended.

Wünschenswerte Qualifikation

A solid background in continuum mechanics is desirable.
