Presidential staff
From global networking to strategic planning to supporting research – our teams at the presidential staff actively shape the long-term academic focus of FAU. Chancellor’s staff units
The chancellor’s staff units are the administrative hub of the university. Employees working here, are the driving force behind the university’s site and organizational development, they attend to all administrative affairs overseen by the chancellor and they address key issues such as sustainability, controlling and data protection.
Faculty and department management
Our administrative teams in the faculties and departments are responsible for managing committees and act as an important interface between administration and academia. At the chairs, they are responsible for handling all the administrative affairs and actively assisting in organizing events.
Teaching and studying
Our colleagues are actively involved in shaping academic operations, accompanying students throughout their studies. They are the central point of contact during everyday university life and are involved in continually developing the teaching and learning standards at FAU. They drive continuous improvement and ensure quality in academic services.
Budget and finance
If figures are your passion, this is your place to be. Our employees here are responsible for managing equipment and corporate budgets as well as third-party funding. They are also responsible for financial accounting, internal accounting, tax and customs matters or central procurement. They ensure that FAU’s financial resources are put to the best possible use.
Human resources
Our human resources department accompanies all employees throughout their employment at FAU. Teams in six different units offer comprehensive services and are available to give help and advice at all stages of your career. In this unit, you will support FAU in optimizing application processes and finding academic and non-academic staff.
Communications, brand and marketing
Moving knowledge means using various channels to make it available to the public. Targeted marketing measures allow FAU to address prospective students directly. All our communication and marketing activities boost the recognition of our brand. We aim to represent FAU professionally within the university and beyond.
Academic services
Employees in areas such as the graduate center, university library or the language center make a major contribution to strengthening and extending the research activities and infrastructure of FAU. Our employees at academic services provide essential knowledge to support academic excellence at FAU.
Central services
The occupational medical service and colleagues from other internal units are responsible for various areas across FAU, such as occupational health and safety. Together with employees in internal audits and the registry, they are on hand for checking that we comply with all applicable regulations.
